BEF checkboxes - Allow multiple selections - Remember the last selection

Problem/Motivation

The Allow multiple selections - Remember the last selection - BEF checkboxes do not seem to work correctly when trying to use the "Remember the last selection" feature.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Create a taxonomy term vocabulary with around 5 terms
  2. Entity reference the vocabulary to a content type
  3. Create a views page or block and add the vocabulary as a exposed filter.
  4. Choose "Single Filter"
  5. Go to BEF settings and change this exposed filter to checkboxes/radio buttons
  6. Within the filter criteria
  7. Check the option "Allow multiple selections"
  8. Check the option "Remember the last selection" and select user roles "anonymous" and "authenticated"
  9. Under Advanced / Use Ajax select "Yes or no" same behaviour
  10. Under Advanced / Caching select "none"
  11. Go to the created views page and make a couple of selections on the exposed filter
  12. Reload the page
  13. The previous selection isn't remembered, the view filters are shown in completed state

I tested this out with vanilla installation of Drupal 9.4.15 and Drupal 9.5.9 - BEF 6.0.3 and BEF 8x-5.2.

Any input would be much appreciated.
