Thanks for the thought. Of course, the way that module works is only to correct Drupal Core's own Language Links Block. Where as this module provides it's own and has some of it's own feature discussions.

I think most websites want a menu like dropdown option for language. While at the same time don't want to show un-translated links.
Just installed language_switcher_extended and would like to ask. Because this module provides its own block. Is that and dropdown_language not compatible?

in short: they do different things.
-this/my module provides it's own block and logic to get the availble links -- just same as core language block does. but show those same links and ties in the display logic specific to render the 'drop button'
- 'language_switcher_extended'. alters the language block list core provides and links in it's link logic.^ but this is where our two module essentially have the 'same logic' to filter the links.

you could use both modules in one project: but then you are placing both the 'core lang block' and My Block. results: you should get the same published/permissioned list of 'has translated links' list.
