Overriding style_options.yml

Created on 1 March 2023, over 1 year ago
Updated 9 August 2023, over 1 year ago

Problem/Motivation

There are two .style_options.yml files, mercury_editor_style_options.style_options.yml and mercury_editor.style_options.yml. Are they able to be overridden? I have created my own .style_options.yml file, but these options are also included.

Proposed resolution

If they can't be overridden, maybe change their names to example. as with the Style Options module.

I was going to say the same thing. Wouldn't it be better to put only one of them? It is a bit confusing that by default there are two in the same package.

And as @stevieegee suggests to put one os these files only as an example, like example.mercury_editor.style_options.yml

And thanks for this awesome module!

It is not currently possible to override the definitions in style_options but you can override the context by putting your own style_options file in the theme. This is a current limitation of the style_options module and not mercury_editor specific. We are in the process of removing style_options from mercury_editor in an effort to be less opinionated.
