Filter field comparison cannot be removed when fields don't exist any more

Problem/Motivation

When deleting fields that the comparison filter relies on, the filter cannot be removed any more.
It says
"Field xxx set in Global: Field comparison is not set in this display." and refuses to be removed.

Workaround:
add the fields again in the display, and then the filter can be removed.

    Can you please provide additional information on the view and fields you were using. I cannot reproduce this problem.

    The steps:
    - A simple view both filters from this module.
    - Only the left filter display in the settings I could not remove add or configure the filter.
    - Every time when I try to save give me an error.

    Error message
    Field set in Global: Field contained is not set in this display.
