Translated blocks not editable after they have been created

Created on 5 February 2023, about 2 years ago

Problem/Motivation

I run Drupal 9.5.3 and php 8.1
I can create blocks and translate them. see picture : Create a Block
I can also see the different languages and choose one.

Steps to reproduce

When I want to reedit the translation under Translate.
The three translations are shown. See : Blocks translated
But when I click on the English one - the system jumps back to the German one See : Only German is accessible
there only the German language is accessible anymore.
If I want to delete the one translation. The system wants to delete all of them. See : Delete the blocks

Same thing happens on nodes as well.

Proposed resolution

Who can help on this.

Remaining tasks

I have no idea what to do or where to search for.

I went back on 9.5.2 there the issue does not appear.

Thanks

So if the original is German and you delete the original then deleting all the translations is expected I think

Can you advise what the url is for each of the per language edit links on the translation tab?

  • πŸ‡¨πŸ‡Switzerland lomale@bluewin.ch Switzerland

This is not only the case when I delete German, but also with the other languages.

    here are the links

    httxx://www.xxxxxx.ch/de/block/74

    httxx://www.xxxxxx.ch/en/block/74

    httxx://www.xxxxxx.ch/fr/block/74

Event the links show the correct URL it jumps to the German transversion.

What else could I send to you ?? I don't see any recent log messages.

    Thanks

I'll try and reproduce this later in the week

I was unable to reproduce this, I started with the Umami demo installation from core

I then edited the spanish translation of the Umami disclaimer block from the translations tab, and it worked fine.

I then deleted the spanish translation, and it didn't impact the original (english) translation.

Are you able to reproduce this on a clean install of core?

@lomale@bluewin.ch what are your language detection settings? If URL detection is not used or it is not hit, the content with the wrong language is shown.

    Sorry I cannot reproduce this.
I made a rollback on the data. And I can say that system 9.5.3 works. But no idea what happened.
Are there configurations that can be exported that could show where the problem ist with the languages.
I still don't see how to find bugs.
I will try to make the changes I made, step by step. Maybe I find out where the problem started.

Is there a good help for Language management in Drupal?

    Thanks for Help so far.

I'm not really an expert on languages, having the luxury of mostly building English sites. I normally refer to the Demo Umami install profile which is a multilingual food magazine
