I am not sure about the purpose of this text, which explains an 100% self-evident operation.
Is this an accessibility thing? If it is, isn't there a better way like aria-label or something to fix this? Instead of wasting that much space and make it worse for all other users?
Maybe thats more a discussion for the library, not for the module, but the module may fix it for Drupal.

And yes, that's something which should be configured via a JS Library setting.
The settings name is:
itemSelectText: 'Press to select',
We shouldn't make that decision for users, but we can set that as default setting.
So hopefully we can do:
