Considering D8 is entirely EOL, I don't see a reason to support D8 anymore at all.
Gravitating towards Drupal 9+ also allows us to restrict PHP versions even tighter, meaning less backwards compatibility is needed in that regard as well.

Added this extra check, although Drupal 8 & 9 is no longer really supported by this module.
Automatically closed - issue fixed for 2 weeks with no activity.
