Replacing PageManager+Panels with core LayoutBuilder?

I installed Page Manager and Panels in the very early days of Drupal 8 to build custom block pages, including the home page.

Page Manager β†’ does not appear to be very actively developed, and is not covered by the Drupal security policy.

The Panels β†’ module page states:

All new installs of Drupal 8+ are encouraged to use Layout Builder instead. Panels is mostly for D7 and early D8 sites.

Does Layout Builder represent an opportunity to completely get rid of PageManger+Panels on my Drupal 9/10 site? I simply need to design simple pages where I can put blocks in different regions. If so, is there any way to migrate PageManager pages and Panels variants to the new core Layout Builder system?

I looked through issues to try to make sense of this, but was getting confused, so apologies if this info is posted clearly somewhere and I missed it.

    Thanks for raising an issue!

I can see that Page manager has some Layout Support but it appears that panels does not.

In terms of getting help with migration and general support around this, I'd recommend going to Drupal.orgs excellent support page β†’ .
