Since the improvement also affects the current version, I reopened the issue and adjusted the version
I have noticed few small issues with the Icon select -widget, they are minor but could improve the usability nicely.
1. I have a reference field that allows one value, hovewer in the admin UI of the widget, checkboxes are shown for the icon selection. Checkboxes indicate multiple options and this is not always the case, depending of the field settings.
2. Currently I have around 30 icons so the list size is quite manageable but it is expected that the project will have hundreds of icons later. This will produce a long list of icons and will make it difficult for the content editor to find the correct icon.
1. Add support for radiobuttons if field is set to accept only single value. Use checkboxes if multiple values are selected.
2. Maybe look into adding a pager and some sort of sorting options? These could be controlled in the field widget settings.
