The width of the expanded choices widget isn't well calculated and differs a lot (negatively) from the native select widget. We shoud improve that and use as less JavaScript as possible.
Please check if the fix should be done in Drupal or the library.
For example, this can be seen at admin/config/development/backup_migrate
