The error message "The website encountered an unexpected error. Please try again later" after I click on the "Create new account" button

Problem/Motivation

After I click on the "Create new account" button with the newly set path, I get the error that says "The website encountered an unexpected error. Please try again later".

Steps to reproduce

  1. create a path for example-role (/user/register/emample-role) as described in https://www.drupal.org/docs/contributed-modules/multiple-registration/ho... →
  2. enter username and password in /user/register/emample-role and click "Create new account" button
  3. An error message "The website encountered an unexpected error.

Version information

  • Drupal Version9.4.8
  • Multiple Registration 3.1.1

Note

- Despite the error on the screen, /admin/people lists the users that were created.
- I initially suspected this was caused by a conflict with another contributed module on my website, so I installed Drupal Version 9.4.8 on my newly acquired domain and tried the above steps with the same result.

If anyone knows anything about this, any advice would be greatly appreciated.
