Show only the results of the related content type

I am not sure to understand what you mean by "dynamically limit the results to related [content-type]".
The results are provided by Views by default. You can twick that views as per your needs, for instance by adding a filter on the content type.
You can also write a custom callback page to optimize the results as needed using PHP. You just have to provide that particular URL as the callback in the settings.
