Message fields not exposed as tokens

Assuming in your example that field_issue is an entity reference field and that you have set that field in your message entity before sending; then that token should work as expected.

I seem to be having the same symptom. I am using symfony mailer lite. I suspect this is related. I will update if I find the cause.
