Support Search API (Solr / Database Search / ...)

Problem/Motivation

Currently some of the settings on the Search 404 settings page say, they only work with

Drupal-Core, Apache Solr, Lucene and Xapian

.

As Search API is widely used, it would be very helpful to have it working with Search API in general or at least with included Database Search.

I guess technically this will need a deeper Search API integratin, eventually through specific submodules for Search API vs. Core search.

Using the basic features of the module is straightforward if you have set up a custom search page in Views which does a Fulltext search.

In Search404 settings, enable "Do a "Search" with custom path instead of a Drupal Search when a 404 occurs" then set the path to be something like: custom-search?search=@keys - depends on how you've configured your View.

Would be nice if a lot of other features worked with the Search API Database though...

@robcarr: the search works fine except it is not integrated with options like "Jump directly to the first search result even when there are multiple results"

It would be nice to have the "Jump directly ..." options with search API.
