Allow selecting referenced block view mode.

Problem/Motivation

I may not be smart enough to understand why this is not a thing, but I thought view modes were a Drupal paradigm that should be available to any referenced entity, or in this case referenced block.

I would like to, at the very least know which field the block is being referenced from (or even that it is referenced from a block_field generally) within hook_preprocess_HOOK for either hook_preprocess_block, or hook_preprocess_field.

Alternatively I would like to be able to select the block view mode to be displayed from the field display configuration within each entity view mode.

Thanks, I guess if this will ever be implemented, it must be done in a submodule, as what you're talking about is block_content, not block (plugins). Regular block (plugins) don't have view modes.
