Enabling removing comments = WSOD

Problem/Motivation

I thought I would try out the module on a site I just went into production with, however when I enable strip the html comments I get a white screen of death with nothing being logged. As soon as I turn it off and do a refresh the page is minified as expected. Suggestions on where to start debugging?

    I experience the same issue using Version 1.12.0 of minifyhtml together with Drupal 9.5.3
    If i enable the option "Strip comments from the source HTML" i receive an empty response which results in the browser's 404 page beeing shown.

    I tried it out with a clean(ish) install of Drupal 9.5.2 and 10 with the versions mentioned and didn't run into any issues.

    Is there anything special about the site you're running it on? Is it running on a Linux server or Windows (or something else)?

    Nothing is jumping out at me from the code.
