Performance issues with large amount of groups

Hello,

We have a site where we have 7000+ groups.

Each time we save a group, it seems that the permissions are being recalculated for all groups.

We end up with over 30 seconds to save a group.

IS there a way to improve that?

Maybe those caculations could be pushed after the response?
