A recent update, which I cannot pinpoint, has broken the login form parameter "showcore".
/user/login?showcore goes straight to the openid provider I configured.
I'll gladly do further tests if instructed.
This happens on a website I'm preparing (not publicly accessible) which uses OpenID Connect / OAuth client to handle most (but not all) users, I still need to be able to log in local users.
I originally submitted this as a bug for OpenID Connect / OAuth client but I'm moving to core after 2 weeks with no activity as I was unsure where to file the issue from the beginning.

It's likely this issue predates Contrib.social: some issue and comment data are missing.
It has been 8 months and no further information has been provided to confirm that this is a problem with Drupal core. Therefor, based on #3 and #4 I am closing this issue.
If you are experiencing this problem on a supported version of Drupal reopen the issue, by setting the status to 'Active', and provide complete steps to reproduce the issue → (starting from "Install Drupal core").
