Simple XML sitemap Project - Update Categories

Created on 27 May 2022, over 2 years ago

The Project Browser Initiative is working on a new page for adding and installing modules. The default display of the Project Browser will show Drupal modules that have a release that is compatible with the version of Drupal the site is using. A card will be displayed for each of the modules (projects). The key components displayed on the card will include a logo, a short description and the categories this module belongs to.

The number of categories was recently reduced from 55 down to 19 to help folks searching for modules to more effectively use the category filter.

First, read through the moduleโ€™s project page on Drupal.org . If needed, spin up the module on SimplyTest.me or DrupalPod to understand what the module does. Then review the Category Definitions and suggest 1-3 categories for the module. (When in doubt, err on the side of fewer, not more!)

    Current categories on the project page listed are: Multilingual, Site Search, Search Engine Optimization (SEO). I think of these only Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is relevant to this module.

    After reviewing the module's README.md, and seeing all the included API methods, we might want to consider adding Developer Tools as a category.

    Modifying the Issue Summary.

    @leslieg can you review?

    Agree SEO makes sense.

    It does seem to have an extensive API, but the same is true of many modules. The description of the Developer Tools category is "Empower developers with tools that assist with developing and debugging the frontend or backend of the site". I believe that this refers to modules that explicitly provide tools to aid development, such as debugging tools, not just modules providing APIs or libraries.

    I would be happy with SEO being the only category for this module.
