Module doesn't seem to do anything useful?

Problem/Motivation

When the module is installed it is not clear how it is supposed to connect to custom blocks, making it all-but useless.

Steps to reproduce

* Create a block type, add fields to it.
* Install the Fixed Block Content module.
* Go to admin/structure/block/block-content/fixed-block-content.
* Click "Add fixed block content".
* Give the fixed block content item a title.
* In the "Block content" field select the block type created earlier.

Selecting the block type should show the appropriate fields for that block type.

Nothing happens to the form, there is no way of either creating a new custom block or selecting an existing custom block.

Proposed resolution

Either:
1. Document more completely how this module is expected to work, how you're supposed to define the content for the fixed content block?
2. Improve the module's UI to make it clear how it interacts with content blocks.

It's likely this issue predates Contrib.social: some issue and comment data are missing.

I see the same issue... So the Fixed Block Content module doesn't work anymore?

I personally stopped trying to use it and went for Simple Block and Default Content instead, depending up on the specific use case.

unfortunately, I see the same thing with D 10.1.6. I don't see a way to add content to the fixed block.

I was also very confused by this. For me, what worked was to go to the Fixed Content Block list page and then click on the name of the block (not the edit button!), it'll open up the edit form to edit the content block.
