Toolbar color contrast fails WCAG on hover

Problem/Motivation

The color contrast (black beside the hovered state of dark grey) is failing with a contrast ratio of 2.2:1.
The requirement calls for a 3:1 contrast ratio against adjacent colors for 2 types of non-text content:

Active user interface components
o Any visual boundary that indicates the active component's clickable area must have a contrast ratio of at least 3:1.
o Any visual effect that indicates the active component's state must have a contrast ratio of at least 3:1.
Additional:

Take a look at the screenshot. The arrows in red a problem. Note: the grey cannot be too light, because white letters of username and light grey need to be 4.5:1 contrast ratio.
