Using Ctrl + z Twice In-a-Row Will Delete Code in Asset Injector (Ace Editor)

Created on 5 April 2022, over 2 years ago
Updated 3 June 2024, 7 months ago

Problem/Motivation

When you're cursor is in the code editing area of either CSS or Javascript Asset Injectors, and you use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + z consecutively will delete all code. Inadvertently hitting the 'Save' button will probably make the change permanent. We may need to inform users about this.

Steps to reproduce

Steps to replicate:

When on CSS or Javascript asset injector page,
put cursor inside the code editing area,
write sample code inside,
do ctrl + z at the same time two times consecutively,
all code will disappear

Proposed resolution

Probably need a warning, or something, to either save a copy before editing.

This sounds like an ace editor issue, not an issue this module can fix. @shelane did you find an ace editor issue or could you create one?

I think this issue should be kept open to inform other users running into this? Could you also please check if it's potentially fixed in the latest Ace Editor release?
