Add field plugin too

We're in the very same boat, so i'll scratch when it itches a lot. ;-)

It itched. Coded it. Works fine for me.
Had to move some code around, but made the commits so that it's clear what's happening.

Thanks @geek-merlin! Now we have a merge error, so this needs to be reworked, I'm totally fine to merge this afterwards.
