I don't think this should be done in this module.
But rather in an external module as it is done with the "domain" module.
Setting as "Won't fix" for now.
First, I have this module on all of my sites and love it!
One common request I get is to have a different favicon - usually a variant of the normal one with a red cog or something - for admin pages and/or when viewing pages using the admin theme.
This would provide an easy way for content editors, site admins, ...any authenticated user really, to quickly see what "public-facing" tabs they had and what node add/edit, settings, etc. tabs they had open.
I'm attaching images of an example of what has been requested. It would be simple enough to generate another favicon package, just need some way to upload it as well and say where it should apply to.
