Poor documentation

Problem/Motivation

Coming as a non coder from Drupal7 vesion of this module I am a bit lost with this new paradigm. I totally understand the motivation of getting rid of php code in the front end. And I am willing to learn and move forward. Having read the documentation I am quite confident to having understood this new way of getting things done. But the documentation stops right where it was supposed to help people like me.
The FAQ clearly states that the option to enter the php-code was removed. But it does not make clear, where it went. So: Where do I put my code?
And yes, this module is supposed to be used by professional developers, which I am not. But having made great use of the D7 version with even writing my own calculation codes I feel a bit left off. Wasn't Drupal made for being used by a wide audience?
Or is this module really a "If you don't get it then forget it" one?
Please understand that I am not asking for unpaid support on a specific code but am trying to clarify things for a more basic audience.

Steps to reproduce

Proposed resolution

It would definitely point me in the right direction if anyone would expand the documentation with a simple example of adding two numeric fields to a nodetype, adding them together with this module and then outputting the result in the nodeview.
