Currently the great Varbase Blog Module doesen't support Comments in Blog. That's mainly because field node_comment could not be referenced in config right now, when activateing the blog Feature or th comment module itself
The second issue here is that even if you manage it to enable the comment Module in any way and add the field to the default view via layout builder the comment field doesn't show up.
Third issue If you enable the comment Module and realize tht it doesnt do what it shold do you can not disable it with ease, agian.
This Situation remains for a while now. It is unlikely that the Issues that may be in core get fixed soon. There are just two community driven solutions right now to manage comments in Varbase right now. One is to integrate Facebook Comments. That is an overload when it comes to gdpr. The other one is disquss. This is also not easy when it comes to gdpr and both of them are not any drupal solutions.
So the solution here may be to fix theconfiguration issues of comment module in Drupal core or even to build a custom comment module that is able to solve that problem. Maybe an other great Idea is to create a new module based on https://github.com/umputun/remark42 or https://vssue.js.org/
