are there any plans to port this module to Drupal 8/9 ?
Drupal is an excelent solution for building communities. In combination with other modules based on the message stack, like "private message" module, this would be a great extension for the drupal 8/9 ecosystem.
Perhaps a custom module in opensocial distribution is reusable as a starting code base.
