Wonder with the latest changes to 8.x-2.x if this is still needed?

Revisited and now see what was request. Think this will be made better by ✨ Continuation Add Views EntityReference filter to be available for all entity reference fields Active vs an autocomplete field.

Actually, it is already possible to do it on both 8.x-2.x and 3.x branches.

You should add the Lock owner relationship that is provided by the module. After that, you can add any owner lock fields, filters, etc.
