Problem/Motivation

toc_js automatically creates back to top links which target to the toc element of the heading where you clicked the link. What I can't do is to scroll to top of page or to a custom anchor e.g. placed next to the title heading.

Proposed resolution

Add a setting to choose the target item of the back to top links, e.g. custom, top of page (#) or automatic (current behaviour)

    FYI in the new 3.0.x-dev version, "back to top" links target the first "tocable" heading of the page.

    So the feature request is resumed now to : "back to top" to a custom anchor (and not necessary the first heading). Close this as outdated as 3.0.x version allows to scroll to top of page now. Feel free to reopen if needed
