Offering to maintain Front Page

It's much much easier and safer to just leave the file names and namespace as they are. There may be other modules that rely on the machine name/namespace of the files being 'front_page' - it's in the wild, developers know it and use it. It's not hard to continue to maintain it like that. Keep it simple, reduce the chances of breakage.

There is a D8 release of this module, although for some reason it has been pulled. It works just fine and I've had it in a site for years like that.

Anyway, this co-maintainer request has been idle for 2 years - there have been no commits for 3 years - you have a very good case for going forth and getting maintainer-ship assigned to you as this module is effectively abandoned.

I have a fully merged and fully credited branch of this module which would make a release for the 8.x-1.x branch a fairly simple task if you would like it.

The site moderators does not process any maintaining offers unless explicitly requested to do so by the individual initially offering to maintain.

We're of course open to process this offer if grasmash asks us to do so.

Moving it back to the project's own issue queue.

@gisle may I take over here and offer my help as maintainer to push things forward an prepare a Drupal 10 compatible release or should I create a separate issue for that?

Will he have to wait for 2W again then or can we speed it up based on this issue?
