With Drupal 7 not being supported anymore. I'm closing this issue.
This module renders the copied text in a separate theme element and requires the latter to be visible.
How about adding an option to copy text that is not displayed in the page ? The library supports the HTML attribute data-clipboard-text which we could use: https://clipboardjs.com/
Add an option to let people determine whether the copied text should be rendered or not on the page.
