Custom comment are not shown on layout builder (on existing nodes)

Hi, I've created a custom comment type entity and I've added as a "comment" field on a node. If the page is rendered through layout builder the "add new comment" form is not shown on existing nodes.

Steps to reproduce (using latest 8.9.3, not tested on Drupal 9):

  1. Create a content type, call it "test_content_type"
  2. Add a new "test_content_type" node
  3. Create a new comment type
  4. Add the new comment type on a content type using the "Comment" field type
  5. Enable the content type visualization with Layout Builder
  6. Add the comment field on a LB section
  7. Go to the node created before
  8. When you view the node you view all the LB elements except the custom comment field

    Hello! Thanks for rasing an issue.

    I've tried to replicate this in D11 following the exact steps in the issue summary. Comments showed correctly on both new and existing nodes. Since this cannot be replicated I'm making this as closed.

    If you're able to replicate this on a fresh install of D11 feel free to reopen and update the relication steps in the issue summary :)
