'Input Required' option is not working even when input values are un-checked from combined field filter

Problem/Motivation

'Input required' option in BEF settings is not being honored when filters from combined field filter are unchecked. Results are always showing up if we select any filter and then un-check it. Value to the filter in URL is emptied but the key remains there in the URL.
E.g. https://test.com?test_filter=
