Thanks for a wonderful module @drclaw, and your answer is correct: URL-decoding spaces and special characters such as รถ, allows the import of images to go through.

Why did you change it back @avpaderno? I changed it to the current version intentionally, since this is still a valid question, and the method suggested by @drclaw still works in the current version.
If you feel strongly it should be reverted to 8.x-1.1, please leave a comment as to why, and let's have a discussion.

It is an issue that has been closed ad Closed (works as designed) almost four years ago.
It is pointless to change version without re-opening the issue, since nobody will see it, which means nobody will see what reported as still relevant. - ๐ฉ๐ฐDenmark ressa Copenhagen
Thanks for clarifying your thoughts behind reverting the version number.
I did not leave a comment and change the version number to get support, I did it to signify that the suggested solution is still valid in the current version.
You would know this, if you had cared to read my short comment.
And I disagree: Others who run into this problem will search, and find this issue, and get a recent confirmation, that it still works.
So the information in this issue is quite the opposite: Still very relevant.

I read it, but what said in that comment does not say anything about why the version has been changed. It just says you thank drclaw and that you agree with him. Neither of those are reasons for changing version for a closed issue.

Well, the text combined with the version change would infer that, but I have added a line to clarify this.
Also, you seem to have missed that this issue is not really about this module, but a universal problem of handling spaces in filenames. Anyway, I think we have wasted enough time on this by now :)
