The module description states that it only works with MySQL. It would be nice to have a set of Kernel Tests which create a set of entities, nodes, and paragraphs, then runs a search/replace against each data set. Then the data could be queried with assertions to prove the results are as expected in different situations (multi-language, revisionable, different databases, etc). This would be helpful for other developers who wish to ensure their system plays nice with the scanner module. It is also helpful by providing coded examples of how to use the module.
The existing tests pass on the sql server database, while users have demonstrated that it does not work in production.
