Menu Trail by Path: several issues

The module menu_trail_by_path → has some issues that, IMHO, affect several Openfed desired functionalities and as such, should be fixed. Since the module is not actively being maintained, we will address the issues here as well.

have patches to fix the issue but they conflict with each other so it is necessary to have a patch merging both issues.
