Customer Profile ID not saved on the User

I am seeing that sometimes, not very often, the Customer Profile ID is not being saved on the User.

To be clear, the Account is created in Authorize.net, and the Payment Profile is created as well.
Payment Profiles are saved for the User, and the Payments themselves are correctly stored on the Order.
However, The Customer Remote ID is not saved on the User.

Is anyone else seeing this issue?

    There are separate profiles for the order and the user. If the user enters a shipping profile and saves it then keeps the "Billing same as shipping" box checked then a billing profile will never be created for the user, only the order. The shipping profile will be saved to their account though.
    Is this the behavior you're seeing?
