Discuss the problem of changing widgets after users voted

Problem/Motivation

We can use more than one type of Rate widgets. For example "Fivestar" for a Product and "Thumbs Up" for an Article. The administrator can change the type of the widget at any time. Even if the voted already exist in database. This can cause problems, because some widgets have different values, e.g. "Fivestar" from 0 to 5 but "Thumbs Up / Down" -1 or 1.

What we need to display when the widget has been changed and the user has voted?

1. We're changing the widget to "Fivestar"
2. The user votes 5 stars
3. We're changing the widget to "Thumbs Up / Down"
