I've come across this issue #2824341: Make markup-field a pseudofield or computed field → in Markup module.
As extra_field is only for developers but has no UI and Markup should use pseudo-fields in Drupal 8, it might be a good idea to join forces to offer the flexibility of extra_field to Site Builders, enhance the architecture of Markup and use the markup and extra_field ecosystem like markup_twig, extra_field_plus, extrafield_views_integration etc.?
What do you, especially the extra_field maintainers think about that?
