link field type shows internal: or entity: in uri in JSON format

Created on 4 January 2019, almost 6 years ago
Updated 7 November 2024, 14 days ago

The link field shows uri:"internal:"... and uri:"entity:" when viewing a page with ?_format=json. Expected results was either the path entered (/about-us) or the path alias when using the auto correct.

Steps to reproduce (assuming REST is enabled and page can be viewed using ?_format=json):

  • Add a link field to Basic page.
  • Create new content type Basic page
  • type "/about-us" as the link
  • View page?_format=json in a browser, JSON will show uri:"internal:"
  • change "/about-us" to use auto complete to populate the link
  • view page?_format=json again, you'll see uri:"entity:node/ID"

The only discussion here is 6 years ago was to ask if this problem still exists.

Since we need more information to move forward with this issue, I am setting the status to Postponed (maintainer needs more info). If we don't receive additional information to help with the issue, it may be closed after three months.

    Thanks!
