1. User has a series of subdirectory multisites. For the purpose of this example, we have:
2. User has the standard Link field enabled for a content type or custom block type.
3. User use the standard Link field widget and standard Link display formatter.
4. User enters an internal reference for the the URL field for a www.example.com piece of content.
5. User saves the content.
6. User looks at the page and sees the correct URL rendered for the internal reference. Let's say www.example.com/my-page.
7. { time passes}
8. User receives word that the relative URL is now rendering for an incorrect subdomain.
The URL should consistently be output as www.example.com/my-page.
Users report seeing a different version of the link with some of the other subdirectory multisites in the path. Such as:
Once the cache has been rebuilt the correct URL is displayed again.

It's likely this issue predates Contrib.social: some issue and comment data are missing.
