This module must be related https://www.drupal.org/project/image_style_on_upload → , but looks like it works for the entire site. Some me it would be useful to have it on a per field basis.

Initial situation
I have a Drupal site on which users can upload images (into the public file directory).
The images are manipulated/edited with different effects after upload with help of an image style. So far, so good.
The problem
In my file system I have every file two times. The original file and the edited file in my styles folder.
In some use cases it is also not useful to keep the original image file on the server (without some watermark for example).
Suggested solution
To save disk space on the server and avoid data redundancy it would be great if a image style can applied to the original image (optionally -- maybe with a simple checkbox?).
