Client-side hierarchical select for selecting the parent on the taxonomy "Add term" form

When adding a term to a vocabulary, the parent term is selected in the "RELATIONS" section of the form, using a scrolling selector list:

In a large vocabulary it is very slow and difficult to find the parent, especially as the list only shows 4 items.

The maintainer of the Simple Hierarchical Select module has said that this support is not planned → for that module to support this. The Client-side hierarchical select widget may be an alternative. Is it possible?
