I created a block content type with a field using smart trim, I created a block content and rendered it in the footer of a view. It displayed the summary but it didn't show the 'More' button, I configured it to show the button and to use AJAX.
I have smart trim working inside product entities, so I think the problem might be rendering the block inside the view.
