It is worth noting that this patch is in the 2.x branch - so if you are using this patch you will not need it in 2.x.
I'm getting a php notice when assigning roles as a user with the 'Assign roles' permission.
Notice: Undefined index: authenticated in roleassign_form_alter() (line 99 of modules/contrib/roleassign/roleassign.module).
Everything is seems to working fine.
