It would be nice, if one makes the link field of menu link entities translatable, the menu system takes those translations into account. That way, it's possible to achieve a translation of the menu where editors can change the link target per language.

Used to track the progress of issues reviewed by the Drupal Needs Review Queue Initiative.
It is used to alert the performance topic maintainer(s) that an issue significantly affects (or has the potential to affect) the performance of Drupal, and their signoff is needed. See the governance policy draft and Drupal Core gate - performance for more information.
The change is currently missing an automated test that fails when run with the original code, and succeeds when the bug has been fixed.

This issue is being reviewed by the kind folks in Slack, #needs-review-queue-initiative. We are working to keep the size of Needs Review queue [2700+ issues] to around 400 (1 month or less), following Review a patch or merge request → as a guide.
The proposed solution will need test cases to go with it.
New functions should be typehinted.
Also it was reported this caused performance issues so think a review of that will also need to happen.
