Improve UX for "Rendered entity" Field Formatter View Mode List

Problem/Motivation

When selecting a view mode within the "Rendered entity" field formatter, the drop-down selector lists all created view modes for the type of entity that is referenced. Also, in the case that more that one bundle of the entity type are available to be referenced, it would be useful to know which bundles have the view mode set up and which one(s) do not.

Bundles Available For Reference

View Modes Enabled on Bundle That is Being Referenced (Article in this case)

Drop-Down Selector lists all available View Modes (the referenced bundle is Article)

Proposed resolution

1.) Only list view modes that have been enabled for the referenced entity bundle.

2.) In the event that there are multiple bundles available, list all enabled view modes between the bundles and indicate if any bundles need additional view modes enabled

    Thank you for sharing your idea for improving Drupal.

    We are working to decide if this proposal meets the Criteria for evaluating proposed changes. There hasn't been any discussion here for over 8 years which suggests that this has either been implemented or there is no community support. Your thoughts on this will allow a decision to be made.

    Since we need more information to move forward with this issue, the status is now Postponed (maintainer needs more info). If we don't receive additional information to help with the issue, it may be closed after three months.
