Making page manager pages language aware

I see work being done to allow for variants per langage in [#770653] which isn't my exact use case.

I don't want to create a variant for every language, I just want my page manager pages to be language aware. In my tests it appears that entity_view:node plugins are language aware but entity_field:node:[field_name] plugins aren't. I am not sure if this is a limitation or a lack of configuration on my part. I have had trouble finding documentation that gets this specific into language handling. Please point me in the right direction, thanks!
