People view does not sort by display name

If I install realname module to use Firstname Lastname for usernames the People view is not sorted by the Firstname Lastname. It is sorted by username and that can be totally random.

The view should be sorted by the output and not by a invisible key like the username.

I also found that the display has no useful machine name like user_admin_people_list. It is just page_1 and this makes it impossible to alter the query from realname and other modules to workaround the issue. This machine name should also be changed.

I with the module would manage this display name sorting itself and there is no need for realname to alter the query.

    There has been no activity here for 6 years except to ask for more information. There are no steps to reproduce the problem on Drupal core which means we can't confirm the problem or write tests. Since we need more information and it has not been supplied I am closing this issue.

    If you are experiencing this problem on a supported version of Drupal reopen the issue, by setting the status to 'Active', and provide complete steps to reproduce the issue → (starting from "Install Drupal core").
