Drupal 7 is EOL (end of life) so 7.x issues are now being closed.
As a followup to #2216335: FieldEncryptDatabaseCache does not support Memcache → .
Memcache support has been added, as well as the basic framework allowing for multiple backend cache provided to be made available, adding support for Redis should be relatively straight forward.
